Tidal and Acumatica: quotes and supplier invoices without retyping

Keep Acumatica for stock, buying and accounts. Tidal does the typing that happens before it: RFQs become priced quotes, supplier invoices become checked bills, and both land in Acumatica once a person approves.

No change to your Acumatica set up. Connected through its API or an import file.

The short answer: yes, Tidal works with Acumatica. Acumatica is a cloud ERP used by distributors, including marine and industrial suppliers, for inventory, order management and finance. Tidal sits in front of it: it reads RFQs and supplier invoices, prices and checks every line, and after a person approves, creates the Sales Order or Bill in Acumatica with your own item, customer, supplier and tax codes. Supplier invoices arrive in Acumatica as accounts payable Bills, the document your team would otherwise key by hand.

What Tidal creates in Acumatica

Two documents, each with the codes Acumatica already uses.

Two ways to connect Acumatica

Pick the one your team and your IT partner are comfortable with. You can start with files and move to the API later.

Through the API

Tidal connects through Acumatica’s contract based REST API, which creates Sales Orders and accounts payable Bills.

  • Documents appear in Acumatica as soon as they are approved
  • Needs one API user with permission to create those documents
  • No files to move by hand

Through an import file

Tidal produces a file shaped for an Acumatica import scenario.

  • Your team imports in batches, for example once a day
  • No API access needed
  • Good for a first trial or a locked down set up

What you can connect to Acumatica

Each module is sold on its own.

Tidal and Acumatica, answered

Does Tidal integrate with Acumatica?
Yes. Tidal sends approved quotes to Acumatica as Sales Orders and approved supplier invoices as Bills. It connects through Acumatica’s contract based REST API, which creates Sales Orders and accounts payable Bills, or produces a file shaped for an Acumatica import scenario if you prefer to import in batches.
Do we have to change how we use Acumatica?
No. Stock, purchasing, invoicing and accounts stay in Acumatica exactly as today. Tidal only replaces the retyping of RFQ lines and supplier invoices.
How do Tidal items match our Acumatica items?
Tidal’s catalogue stores your Acumatica Inventory ID beside each product, so every quote line and invoice line is sent with the code Acumatica already knows. The same goes for your Customer and Vendor records and tax codes.
Does anything post to our ERP without a person checking it?
No. A person approves each quote and each supplier invoice in Tidal first. Only approved documents are sent to Acumatica.
Do supplier invoices arrive in Acumatica as Bills?
Yes. Supplier invoices captured in Tidal are sent to Acumatica as accounts payable Bills, with your vendor, item and tax codes, after a person approves them in Tidal.
Can we start with only one module?
Yes. Quote Desk and Invoice Capture are sold separately, and each connects to Acumatica on its own.
How long does set up take?
It depends on how clean your item list and supplier price lists are. We start with a trial on your own documents, then load your catalogue and connect Acumatica, and you run both side by side until you trust the results.
